![]() A superb worker which drives herds by nipping at the cattle's heels, the breed traces back to the now-extinct Black Bobtail. Coat: Smooth, hard, straight, and water-resistant top coat and short, normally dense undercoat. Color: Blue, blue mottled, or blue speckled with or without black, blue or tan markings on head; or red speckled with or without darker red markings on head. Features: Broad skull, slightly curved between the cars; alert, intelligent, oval-shape eyes; moderate-size to small cars; slightly long body; tail set low and follows slope of rump. Size: Height at withers: dogs 1 8-20 in, bitches 17-19 in. Weight: 35-45 lb. Care: Requires considerable exercise; benefits from a vigorous daily brushing. Character: Intelligent and good tempered, this superlative working dog is capable of covering immense distances.
