Gundogs Group - Saint Germain Setter
![]() A refined and stylish dog, the Saint Germain Setter is said to have derived from a 19th century mating between an English Pointer and a French Setter. It is an attractive gundog, resembling the English Pointer, but not as heavily boned. Coat: Short and soft. Color: White with orange markings. Features: Fairly broad head; large, well-set, golden-brown eyes; ears set on level with eyes; short, straight back; loins strong, short, and slightly arched; tail undocked. Size: Height: dogs 20-2S in, bitches 21-23 in.Wcight:40-S7 1b. Care: Needs a brush and rub down every few days, and requires plenty of exercise. Character: A strong hunting dog, but with less refinement and sense of smell than the English Pointer. May be used against large game, and also hunts pheasants and rabbit. It has a good gallop. Affectionate, gentle, and intelligent, but can be stubborn.
