Herding Dog Group - Picardy Shepherd

Also known as the Bergcr dc Picard, this medium-size, shaggy, somewhat rustic-looking dog is said to be the oldest French herding dog and an unsurpassed1 worker with both sheep and cattle.

Coat: Hard and moderate in length, with a heavy undercoat.

Color: All shades of gray and fawn; white onlv in spot on chest and toes.

Features: Large head with strong muzzle; dark eyes; cars carried erect; sturdy body; tail curved at the tip.

Size: Height at withers: dogs 24 - 26 in, hitches 2 in less. Weight: 50 - 70 lb.

Care: Requires plenty of space and exercise, and regular brushing.

Character: Energetic and affectionate, it combines the role of working dog with that of family companion. Trustworthy with and devoted to children.
