Toy Dogs Group - Papillon

The name Papillon, French for buttcrflv, comes from the breed's erect ears.This toy spaniel originated in Spain and is believed to be a descendant of the 16th-century Dwarf Spaniel.

Coat: Long, abundant, flowing, and silky in texture.

Color: White with patches of any color except liver; tricolors black and white with tan in spots over eves and inside ears, on cheeks, and under root of tail.

Features: Head slightly rounded; large, erect cars carried obliquely like spread butterfly wings; fairly long body with level top line; long, well-fringed tail.

Size: Height at withers: 8-11 in.

Care: Easy to look after, needing only a daily brushing to keep the coat shining.

Character: Intelligent, healthy, and generally obedient.
