Terriers Dog Group - Norwich Terrier
![]() From 1979, the prick-eared Norwich Terrier has been classified separately from the otherwise identical, drop-cared Norfolk Terrier. It is named after the city of Norwich, eastern England, where it appears to have originated. Both dogs were popular with students at Cambridge University. Coat: Hard, wiry, and straight. Color: All shades of red, wheaten, black and tan, or grizzle; white marks undesirable. Features: Strong, wedgc-shape muzzle; small, dark, oval-shape eyes; erect ears set well apart on top of skull; short back; docked tail optional. Size: Height at withers: 10 in. Weight: 10-12 1b. Care: Enjoys regular exercise and needs only a daily brushing. Character: Hardy and adaptable; good with children.
