Toy Dogs Group - King Charles Spaniel

Also known as the English Toy Spaniel-the name "King Charles" being reserved for the Black and Tan variety only-the King Charles Spaniel's history can be traced back to Japan in 2,000 BC.

Coat: Long, silky, straight coat. Slight wavincss permissible.

Color: Black and Tan Raven black with bright tan markings above eyes, on checks, inside cars, on chest and legs, and underside of tail; white marks undesirable. Ruby Solid rich red, white markings undesirable. Blenheim Rich chestnut markings, well broken up, on pearly white ground; markings evenly divided on head, leaving room for lozenge spot between cars. Tricolor Black and white, well spaced and broken up with tan markings over eyes, checks, inside cars, inside legs, on underside of tail.

Features: Large domed skull, full over eyes; deep, well-defined stop; low-set cars, long and well feathered; wide, deep chest; well-feathered tail, carried above level of back; docked in the USA.

Size: Height: 10 in. Weight: 8-14 lb.

Care: Should bc brushed every day with a bristle brush; eyes should bc kept clean with veterinary eye wipes.

Character: A delightful pet, good with children, and full of fun.
