![]() The Miniature Schnauzer, known in its native Germany as the Zwcrg-schnauzer, was derived from crossing the Standard Schnauzer with smaller dogs. In the United States and Canada, the Miniature Schnauzer is classed as a terrier, and it was at one time the most popular terrier there. Coat: Harsh, hard, and wiry. Color Pure black, or pepper and salt. Features: Strong head of a good length; dark, oval-shape eyes; neat, pointed ears,; tail is set on and carried high, and is normally docked to three joints. Size: Height: 12- 14 in. Weight: 13-15 lb. Care: Like its larger contemporaries, it needs a fair amount of exercise and its coat should be periodically stripped and plucked. The coat may also be clipped. Character: Thc Miniature Schnauzer is a delightful small dog, an excellent family pet and children's companion.
