Terriers Dog Group - German Hunt Terrier
![]() The German Hunt Terrier was probably developed by crossing the English Fox Terrier with the Lakeland Terrier. It is a courageous hunter, which will take on fox and boar as well as small rodents. Coat:Smooth Smooth, harsh, dense, and lying Hat. Rough Harsh and wiry. Color: Black, grayish black, or dark brown with small, even tan markings. Features: Rather heavy head; small, dark eyes set obliquely; V-shapc cars, folded so that tips fall forward; long back; tail set on high and carried erect, usually docked. Size: Maximum height at withers: 16 in. Weight: dogs 19½-22 lb, bitches 16-18 lb. Care: Should be kenneled outdoors, can be groomed with a hound glove. Character: Aggressive, not suitable as a pet or with children.
