Gundogs Group - Flat-coated Retriever

Once known as the Wavy-coated Retriever, the Flat-coat is generally thought to have evolved from the Labrador Retriever and spaniels. It is superlative at picking up game, and an excellent wildfowler and water dog.

Coat: Dense, fine to medium texture, medium length and lying flat.

Color: Solid black or solid liver.

Features: Long, clean head; mcodium-sizc eyes; small ears well set on, lying cde.se to side of head; deep chest and strong! body; tail short, straight, and well set on.

Size: Height: dogs 23-24 in, bitclfees 22-23 in. Weight: dogs 60-80 lb, bitches about 55-70 lb.

Care: Needs plenty of exercise amd also a daily brushing.

Character: Intelligent, with a kdndly temperament; hardy and may be koept in outside kennels.
