Gundogs Group - Field Spaniel

The Field Spaniel has the same origin as the Cocker Spaniel, being, in effect, a larger version of it. It was bred to produce an exaggeratedly long body and short legs.

Coat: Long, flat, and glossy, without curls; silkv in texture.

Color: Black, liver, or roan with tan markings; clear black, white, or liver and white unacceptable.

Features: Head conveys high breeding, character, and nobility; eyes wide open; moderately long and wide cars; deep chest; tail set low and docked.

Size: Height at withers: dogs 18 in, bitches 17 in. Weight: 35-55 lb.

Care: Thrives on plenty of exercise; needs to be brushed and combed every day, taking care that its coat docs not become matted.

Character: Possessing an equable temperament, it makes a good household pet and gundog.
