Terriers Dog Group - Dandie Dinmont Terrier
![]() The appealing and devoted little Dandie Dinmont Terrier was originally bred to hunt badgers and foxes. Coat: Soft, linty undercoat and harder topcoat, not wiry, crisp to the hand. Color: Pepper (from bluish black to pale silvery gray) or mustard (from reddish brown to pale fawn). Features: Strongly made head, large but in proportion to dog's size; rich, dark hazel eyes; pendulum cars; long, strong, and flexible body; rather short tail. Size: Height at shoulders: 8-11 in. Weight: about 18-24 lb. Care: Happy with as much exercise as its owner is able to provide; easy to groom using a stiff brush and comb, and removing any surplus hair. Character: Affectionate, playful, and intelligent, best as the family's sole pet.
