Terriers Dog Group - Czesky Terrier
![]() The Czesky or Bohemian Terrier is a short-legged terrier, little known outside its native home of the Czech Republic. It was developed in the middle of this century by crossing the Scottish, the Sealyham, and possibly other terriers.The result is a tough, sturdy dog that will go to ground after quarry, and is an excellent ratter and a fearsome guard. Coat: Fine and silky, with tendency to curl. Color: Blue-gray or light brown, with light markings. Features: Long head; deep-set eyes; pendent cars; sturdy body; tail 7-8 in long, carried horizontally when terrier is excited. Size: Height at shoulders: 11-14 in. Weight: 13-20 lb. Care: Requires plenty of exercise, the occasional visit to the grooming parlor, and a good daily brushing. Character: Fine working terrier; its equable temperament makes it a good children's companion.
