Terriers Dog Group - Bull Terrier
![]() Considered by some the picture of ugliness, the Bull Terrier began life as a cross between an Old English Bulldog and a terrier. It was originally a fighting dog. Coat: Short and flat. Color: For white, pure white coat; for colorcds, brindlc preferred; black, red, fawn, and tricolor acceptable. Features: Long, straight head, and deep right to end of muzzle; eyes appear narrow; small, thin ears set close togcdicr; short tail, set on low and carried horizontally. Size: Height: 21-22 in. Weight: 52-62 lb. Care: Too strong for other than the able-bodied to handle, and needs careful training. Its short, flat coat is easy to look after. Character: Despite its fierce appearance and strength, it makes a faithful and devoted pet. The bitch, in particular, is utterly reliable with children.
