![]() The Brussels Griffon was once kept by Brussels cab drivers to rid their stables of vermin. It became a companion breed by virtue of its appealing character.The smooth-coated Petit Brabancon probably owes its existence to the introduction of pug blood. Coat: Brussels Griffon Harsh, wiry. Petit Brabancon Soft, smooth. Color: Red, black, or black and rich tan with white markings. Features: Head, large in comparison to body, rounded, in no way domed, wide between the cars; eyes black rimmed, very dark; body, short back, level from withers to tail root, neither reaching nor dipping; tail, customarily docked short, carried high. Size: Height: 7-8 in. Weight: 5-11 lb, most desirable 6-10 lb. Care: The coat of the rough requires a lot of attention; coats may be clipped. Character: Intelligent and cheerful. Makes a fine companion.
