Gundogs Group - Brittany

The Brittany is the only spaniel in the world that points to game. It may be the progeny of an Irish Red and White Setter dog and a Breton bitch.

Coat: Body coat flat and dense, never curly; a little feathering on legs.

Color:White, white with Orange and white or liver and white in clear or roan patterns, or tricolor.

Features: Rounded, medium-length head; expressive eyes; drop cars; deep chest reaching to the level of the elbows; tail naturally short or usually docked to 4in, with a small twist of hair on the end, carried level with back.

Size: Height at shoulders: 17½-20½ in. Weight: 30-40 lb.

Care: Requires daily brushing and plenty of exercise.

Character: Has an excellent nose and needs gentle handling.
