Non-Sporting Group - Bichon Frise

Like the Poodle, the Bichon Frise is thought to be a descendant of the French water dog, the Barbet, and its name comes from the dimunitivc, barbichon. Friendly and outgoing, this little dog has grown steadily in popularity since the late 1970s.

Coat: Long and loosely curling.

Color: White, cream, or apricot markings permissible up to 18 months. Dark skin considered desirable.

Features: Long cars hanging close to head; dark, round eyes with black rims; relatively long, arched neck; tail carried gracefully curved over the body

Size: Height at withers: 9-11 in.

Care: The Bichon Frise has to have its coat regularly scissored. It is often to be seen in a canine beauty parlor.

Character: Happy, friendly, and lively, this breed makes an attractive and cuddly small pet, which will enjoy as much exercise as most owners can provide.
