![]() Reputed to be an unsurpassed vermin killer, which can also dispose of a moke, the Australian Terrier is often mistaken for a large Yorkshire Terrier-and it is considered to be the result of mating Yorkshire and Cairn Terriers. Coat: Harsh, straight, dense, and long, u nil short, soft undercoat. Color: (A) Blue, steel blue, or dark gray-blue with rich tan (not sandy) on face, cars, Under body, lower legs, and around the vent (puppies excepted); top-knot blue or silver, of a lighter shade than leg color. (B) Clear sandy or red; smuttiness or dark shadings undesirable; top-knot a lighter shade. Features: Long head with flat skull, and powerful jaw; small eyes; small, erect, pointed ears; body long in proportion to height; tail set on high, customarily docked. Size: Height at withers: dogs 10-11 in. Weight: 14 lb. Care: Needs only a good daily grooming with a bristle brush; may be kept in or out of doors. Character: Alert, hardy, and devoted family pet.
