Toy Dogs Group - Australian Silky Terrier

The Australian Silky Terrier owes its existence to the cross-breeding of Skye and Yorkshire terriers, and of the Yorkshire and Australian terriers.

Coat: Straight, fine, and glossy.

Color: Blue and tan, pray, blue and tan with silver-blue top-knot. Tips of hairs should be darker at roots.

Features: Small, compactly built dog with body slightly longer than height; head medium length; eyes small, dark, round; ears small, V-shape; tail customarily docked.

Size: Average height: 9 in. Weight: 8-10 lb.

Care: Needs good daily walks to work off its energy, and regular brushing.

Character: Not averse to vermin hunting, it is an affectionate dog.
