Bulldog Show

Nowadays dog shows are becoming very popular. Bulldogs are easy to train for the shows.

Keeping healthy is the first criteria for entering the Bulldog show. Regular cleaning and bathing is very important. They will have a clean and shiny coat if they are brushed regularly.

If you want your bulldog enter the show; you need to provide training at a very young stage. The ideal time is when your puppy is just 6 weeks old; try to give him initial training like standing on the table. The puppy should be wearing the collar but not the leash. Slowly, you may teach your puppy the different balancing acts like standing in a particular position for a specified period.

Bulldog training for a show is a consistent effort which requires quality time. You have to be patient if your pet is not doing the correct thing. You should also give some reward to encourage your pet and making him understand that it is doing the right thing. The duration of the training should be short so that Bulldog can grasp the training and does not get tired.

There are certain age limits for entering the show. You should try to socialize your dog before entering the show. It is good to teach your Bulldog to be able to interact with the strangers.

If you are taking your Bulldog for the show, plan your clothes carefully. Your outfit should look professional and shouldn’t create unwanted attention. Your dress should complement your Bulldog. Your dress should not be creating problems while handling your Bulldog during the show. A shirt, jacket and loose fitting trouser will be suitable for male professionals. Women should not flaunt flowing skirts, high heels and dangling jewelry in order to prevent any sort of dress chaos.

You can accompany a bag with your self carrying all the things needed during the show like water bottle, bowl to drink, towels, brush etc. You should also keep a box containing all the necessary medicines.

When you are entering in show ring, try to be confident. Do not over handle your Bulldog because it will create problem for you and for your Bulldog also. Its totally depends upon the trainer or handler how he/she exhibits his/her Bulldogs good qualities and minimizes its faults. You should be good with judges but do not try to over familiarize with them.

If you are going to attend a Bulldog show, please keep these things in mind:

• These shows are open to public with minimal or no charges. You should not try to approach a Bulldog, which one is participating in show without the permission of the owner or exhibitor.
• Please do not take your dog in the show area if it is not participating in the show.
• Please do not carry any kind of food, liquid refreshment near the show area. Smoking is not allowed near the show area.
